Amy Pon

5th Degree diplomaA Choy Lee Fut practitioner and student of Matthew Wing and Peter Wong for over 30 years, Sifu Pon studied under 5th generation Grandmaster Wong Ha for 8 years. She has competed at numerous local and international tournaments for many years and is currently one of the top adult female traditional forms competitors in the region. She has also been a black belt judge at many of the local and international tournaments for many years. She is also a member of the BCSMAC Referees Association, WKU Referee Association and Wushu BC.

In 2005, she received a diploma from The Confederation of Canadian Wushu Organisations for Level 5, Coach Degree and received a diploma from The Confederation of Canadian Wushu Organisations for Level 5, Coach Degree.Award of Merrit 2006

In 2006, she received the Award of Merit and was awarded first place in the National Team Trials and selected as a member of Team Canada.

She also taught a full day martial arts workshop for KidPower Conference at the Strathcona Community Centre in 2011.

In 2015 she also won the Women's Grand Championship for Traditional Kung Fu 18+ at the 36th Can-Am Tournament at the Richmond Oval. She also won the Adult Black Belt Forms Western Canadian Martial Arts Grand Champion in 2012, and again in 2013.

In June 2016, she won the Adult Black Belt Forms Grand Champion in the Coastal Martial Arts Open in Port Alberni.

In October 2016, she won the Adult Soft Style Black Belt Forms Grand Champion in the Western Canada Martial Arts Championship at BCIT.

In March 2017, she won the 18+ Black Belt Traditional Forms/Weapons Grand Championship at the 2017 Tiger Balm Internationals and won the Adult Black Belt Traditional Forms Grand Champion at the BC Open Martial Arts Chamlpionships in April 2017.

In October 2018 and October 2019, she won the Grand Championship in Adult Black Belt Soft Style Traditional Forms and Grand Championship in Adult Black Belt Soft Style Open Forms at the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championships.

In June 2022, Amy placed first in 45+ and 55+ Black Belt divisions at the CMA Open 2022. On October 2022, she won the Adult Black Belt Traditional Forms Grand Champion at the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championships at BCIT.

She was featured in an article in the Vancouver Courier paper about the Strathcona area.

She currently teaches at Strathcona Community Centre with Matthew Wing.

She is also available for one-on-one training for those who would like to train but are unable to make it to the classes or for those who would like more serious training outside of class.

7th Degree diplomaA Choy Lee Fut practitioner and student of Peter Wong for over 39 years, Sifu Wing has been teaching Choy Lee Fut and self-defense at Strathcona Community Centre for 20 years.

He has won numerous trophies at local and international tournaments over the years including 4 Grand Championships. He has consistently been a top senior forms competitor internationally. He is also a member of the BCSMAC Referees Association and Wushu BC.

On October 2022, he won the Adult Black Belt Open Forms Grand Champion at the Western Canadian Martial Arts Championships at BCIT.

In 2006, he received the Award of Merit and was awarded first place in the National Team Trials and selected as a member of Team Canada.
